  • Greater Boston Area Wiffle Ball League League Profile
Greater Boston Area Wiffle Ball League
    Boston, MA
As an outgoing senior, the despicable failed attempts of NEU intramural office to organize a true wiffle ball league people want to join has angered and frustrated me. I played role of commissioner for a wiffle ball league in southern Maine for 6-8 years, for which I just repurchased the domain name;wiffleballkpt.com, managing fifty to sixty players on twelve teams in all aspects of organization.
Therefore, I chose to draw on experience to create a local recreational league free of all the universities‚?? constrains and regulatory bullish. Title XI female requirements, zero tolerance against drug and alcohol consumption prior to games, no sliding, and mandated play at their rudimentary and pathetically small field all just made for the worst structured wiffle league one could imagine. So I took action.

Within two weeks of promoting the soon-to-be-formed recreational league, establishing a preliminary website, and word of mouth disseminative information channels, the league grew to 40 players before a single formal team had been established, from all school‚??s in the area, extending even to teams from the former league in southern Maine who wanted to continue a league somehow, for which the solution was to divide the league into the solely Boston area based teams division, and a division for teams that are more nomadically adept or originate from the southern Maine (Kennebunkport) area. Needless to say, its growing impressively quickly, and the website greaterbostonwiffleball.com was just established and is still in its construction stages.
More details are to come, but if you want to join an informal, fun, Bush-league/Competitive hybrid league with flexible schedule formats, playing with fast pitch, base running, and use of professional model wiffle bats (Pro Stix 1000 Easton, Louisville Slugger Plastic Wiffle bat, etc.), all providing for larger fields, more athletic action, statistical record keeping for pitching and hitting stats, league leaders and all-time leaders, and a far more engaging and competitive, heavily skill-influenced game format, contact me at 2075906774 or martin.mic@husky.neu.edu. Inaugural games likely won‚??t begin until mid to late April, however I implore you to come to one of our spring training BP sessions or various home run derby days, where we promote the league and work to improve the skill of players who want to better compete in this fun game. Hope to see you in the batters box.
